金山居，大不易

舊金山縱有千般美好，不過到此一遊跟落地生根卻是兩回事。如果美國人城鄉平均的生活物價指數是一百，舊金山的物價指數是166.5，僅次於紐約曼哈頓的228.3，高居全美第二。

如果你是舊金山的一份子

舊金山紀事報的旅遊部落格四月做了一份意見調查「You know you're a real San Franciscan if you...」，請市民談談身在舊金山熟門熟路的生活瑣事。結果臉書分享超過四千次，有八百多條回應。報社再配上圖文，成了八十幾條有趣的舊金山鄉野志。裡面當然提到不少觀光勝地，但更多是一般觀光客之前完全沒注意到或者沒有聽聞過的人事物。一條一條翻出來以後在網路上搜尋資料，雖然仍有些條目完全摸不著頭腦，但偶爾讀懂一些還是常給人驚喜。

舊友主席曾經開過一個叫做 Carolina 的個人版，沒有人猜得出版名的用意。後來他說，這是一首歌，James Taylor 的 Carolina In My Mind。從來沒有去過卡羅萊納，也不需要去。但每當碰上繁瑣不耐的事，Carolina 就是他的桃花源。我去過三次舊金山，每次都不過是個死觀光客；但這地方在心頭圍繞不去。所以有了我的 The City In My Mind.

因為這個城市如此多元奔放，每個人都可以在舊金山找到一點點自己。
